After 36 successful years, the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Berlin has left its founding location in Charlottenburg’s Fasanenstraße and moved to the Theaterbau at Charlottenburg Palace.
On September 24, 2022, the museum will now open at its new location with expanded spatial possibilities after a short renovation phase.
From now on, the museum and its collection on the first floor of the building will be presented in a new presentation under the Kollwitz quote “And yet it is art”.

The countdown is over! Our new domicile is open.
The Kollwitz team has started museum operations and is relieved and also grateful to be able to present the work of Käthe Kollwitz from now on in the former theater building at Charlottenburg Palace.

60 days to go until the opening at the new location. We are sitting on almost packed boxes in Fasanenstraße and hope that the work in the Theater building is going according to plan and that we can keep the moving date…
We celebrate the 155th birthday of our house artist on July 8, 2022, and dedicate ourselves to the printmaking work of Käthe Kollwitz in her honor.

In less than 90 days, the grand reopening will take place in the Theaterbau at Charlottenburg Palace, and we couldn’t be more excited! It is with great joy and relief that we observe the good progress of construction during each of our visits to the new location.
