November is the start of the fairy tale season! As part of the Berlin Fairy Tale Days, exciting events for fairy tale fans are offered throughout Berlin. The autumn month will once again be a month full of fantastic stories, shining children’s eyes and special shared experiences with the family.

The Berlin Fairy Tale Days are already taking place for the 34th time, this year under the motto “Strife and Reconciliation – Fairy Tales and Stories of Togetherness”: Conflicts are part of everyone’s everyday life and sometimes an argument ends in escalation, or speechlessness. What initially gave one some breathing space soon leads to the question: How can we reconcile again? Fairy tales, too, often take up the theme of conflict and go on to tell how peace can be achieved after war. They show how forgiveness can follow discord. Even if not every story ends well, fairy tales tell of possible success and encourage us to find ways for our own inner growth.

The Käthe Kollwitz Museum is taking part again this year and will bring Käthe Kollwitz Prize winner ELisabeth Shaw’s “The Timid Little Rabbit” to life in shadow theatre on Sunday November 19, 2023.
