WHO AM I \u2013 Portrait Workshop<\/h3>\n

This holiday course focuses on the human face. When were the first portraits created, and why? What colours and materials were used? You\u2019ll have fun exploring different techniques for depicting a face, whether with pen and ink, pencil and charcoal, or paints and modelling clay\u2026 But we\u2019ll also be using balloons and photos, and you can even print a face using cola! Best of all: a truly great artist and a master of the self-portrait will be helping us \u2013 K\u00e4the Kollwitz! Because, of course, we\u2019ll be taking a very close look at her depictions of faces in the museum. Her entire life can be read from them.<\/p>\n

Create your own works of art using old packaging, scissors, nails, and paint. Learn about etching, an artistic intaglio printing technique, and design your own posters. Use engraved Tetra Pak cartons, stencils, and printing ink to create your print template. What message do you want to share? In studying the works of K\u00e4the Kollwitz, you will learn that this artist depicted important social issues of her time. Her art inspired many people to get involved\u2014perhaps even you? At the end, the result will be an exhibition that showcases your opinions, wishes, and visions. You will playfully explore topics such as sustainability and expand your artistic range of expression.<\/p>\n
